Bwahaha! Yep, in case you wondered how something that can usually only do hand to hand like a zombie would manage to be a camper. The answer is spear gun hunting!

This is one of the first strip idea that came to my mind, I think it was a year ago more or less while I was going grocery shopping to a supermarket I hate going to.

And: uh, I've spend too much time on the background and not even half of it is visible in this strip... maybe one day I'll make a gallery with all the large background I worked on for nothing...

Based on one of the many myth of science fiction, the one about the low life expectancy of any anonymous character. Of course telling people about your wife and family can have you killed not long after as well so Pam's (the octopus bitch) little trick for a life insurance wouldn't work anyway...

It took way too long for no reason, I've spend some time working on the background since my original picture wasn't large enough; eveytime I wanted it as a background, I ended up wasting my time on adding bits to it but not keeping the modifications, meaning I had to start over again the next time.

The joke is once again inspired by some my little bro did once; one about objects saying what they were in a little voice, the other about eating raw fire.

Sorry for the delay though: I had to adapt to changes at the university, then I spent a week-end at my parent's house during which I had too much to do to stop and draw (they have the x-box, the tv, the pool table, the cats and much more! Every minute was a hard decision for what I could do at the moment).

There isn't much more to say: Redvests are Space and Sea's version of redshirts (I hope my readers do know about the mythical redshirts, this is sci-fi after all!). I have them all on a single character sheet since they all seems to look the same or so, and we don't get to learn much about them anyway...

As announced earlier, this will be the last characters to be introduced, at least for now (who knows if I'll suddenly get some inspiration to a new addition to the crew later on). It should now be only comic strips on Sundays it means.

There you go: third and last part of my James Bond edition! Technically I'm not late: the holidays are over for me since a week, and it's still Sunday where I live...

I hope it wasn't too bad after all... As for the references, the profile view of that sharked Bond is once again based on a mix between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig, and the Jacuzzi is based on the sauna where Xenia tries to kill Bond for the first time in Goldeneye (I just added some toasters, you know).

Another version of the ultimate drunk deathtrap included geese, but it was deemed to complicated to explain at the end.

Voilà!
See you next week as things will go back to normal on Space and Sea and the last "main characters" will be introduced.

A little messing around, greatly inspired by a homework one of my little brothers did at elementary school: they had to describe a family tradition we do on Christmas, but he had no idea what we were having as a tradition so he decided to make his own. He ended up telling how we released eagles in our house and hunt them around with sticks and weapons of all kind. He said the highlight of this special evening was when the eagles would hide in the christmas tree and we'd have to torch it to get them out...

 

I wish we truly did that (or maybe not, because PETA, laws and all...)

Yay, introducing a "sharked" James Bond at last! I tried designing the character halfway between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig, I don't know if it does looks like it...

 

You want to count the references? Well the aquarium from Dr. No's lair, DrunkenShark's costume, chair and "pet" inspired by Blofeld, the last pic was based on a scene from The World is Not Enough (the fireplace looked nice so I took the inspiration to make a door out of it for my background...), the cave-like look is made to remind of the one at the end of Live and Let Die...

 

Anyway, my next update will show us what a vengeful homocidal janitor banned from the MI6 headquarter can do to spies caught messing around his evil lair...

 

Hopefully it will be next Sunday, but with school it might take longer <__<

Yep, here it is! First part of a short Bond themed serie! Like I said I'm doing this because I just love the franchise and it's been this way for more than half my young life.
I could have called this DrunkenShark Meets Bond, but it would have made this one first part wrong or given people false hope I guess... I won't say more about the "plot" of my next strips though, you'll see in time.

So the whale guy is supposed to be the old time M, the one back in Connery's and Moore's days: I even used picture of his office as a reference. I just thought the classic M was easier to parody. As for the last picture, those who have seen Skyfall or the trailers about this movie will find it familiar, and those who haven't won't be spoiled anything...

And in case it's confused: the teal guy is Drunken Shark, remember? The douchebag troll... He just decided to join MI6 for some reasons... We'll see my sharked version of Bond soon :P

Anyway, I'm excited for the rest, see you next week! I'll try not be late!

Oh, I told you guys the crew was a danger to itself!

And this ends my very first two-parter. You also won't find a character sheet update this Wednesday and the following Wednesdays until I introduce my very last regular characters (at least for now).

 

As for the following updates, I was thinking about making a strip or two on James Bond and Bond related jokes. Why? Because Skyfall, obviously, people are in the mood for it... But also since I've been a fan since I was 7 or 8 years old, I've seen all the movies a few times each, I read a few of the original books as well: truly, I only need an excuse to go ahead and make Bond references.

 

It will also be my first attempt at pop culture references in my Webcomic: I was already planning slipping a few parody strips from time to time, well it might be the start of it...

Yep, here's Bern!
Since he's a Hermit Crab he might be seen with different hats from time to time, because that's just how I designed this guy! Also M liking his hat is a thing; I always liked the idea of some random character giving some random compliments to others. I decided she'd be the one, she lacked of obvious flaws after all...

Next week there won't be a character sheet since the Sunday comic will be the second part of this guy's introduction. Once I'll be done with him, there will be only one permanent character kind to introduce, and then I'll switch to one update a week. The strips will be more about jokes than about characters at this point.

Hello guys!

Sorry for the one week delay, I've spend too much time on the background when I had time, but got stuck with not enough time when it was time to make the actual strip (that's a lot of "time"). The worst in this is that I had in mind to do some emergency strips, some cheap quickies, to post in such case to make sure there would be an update anyway, but I'm not done with those yet...

 

So here's another sane character, Bern. They are kind of two aboard when you really think about it, but I'll tell more in the character sheet. This is also a two parter, yay, my first one ever!

 

 

So see you Wednesday, and I really really hope I'll be able to publish the rest next Sunday: I got a few exams this week and the next one so it might be a big challenge in the end to actually do so... But with the background already done it might go faster... Anyway, stay tuned and you'll see!

Woah, I completed this one yesterday late in the evening *__* I'm starting to see what real artists mean when they are complaining about deadlines...

 

Sorry if this one doesn't really have a punchline (unless you count D.S.'s amazing counter argument as one) ;  mostly wanted to introduce that guy. You know, the one that will seriously quote "There is no I in Team" and other lousy cliché motivation gigs? I'll say more on his character sheet, but you get the idea...

 

Also, you might not notice right now, but the backgroung was modeled on the dining room you find in the movie Alien. I adapted it a bit, changed the colour and some bit I couldn't find online, but it's  basically where you see the whole chest bursting scene in the movie.

The chick with the tentacle hair!
I just love how outrageous she is to tell blatant and stupid lies all the time. Each time she'll join the fun, you'll see!

You probably didn't notice, but this character has always an additional shade to it when coloured: the others are basic colour/shading as she is basic colour/highlights/shading. Well that's because she is oily and shiny; that sheen is sexy I guess.

Pam is based on a character I used to kid around with sometimes on TegakiE: she used to be more like M; she was the sensible one while everybody was insane. But sonce I liked her design but had already a sane character, I went for the luscious lying bitch :P Way more fun this way.

4.5 The Head of Maintenance

Oh yeah, here's our rebel! He'll oppose you just because he can! We are starting to get the idea why I keep saying the crew is screwed (ha. ha. ha.)
Also I want to assure you El has no connection whatsoever with a gang, and the bandanna /handkerchief /whatever is not a reference to the Bloods or the Norteños or any other group. It's more like a nudge at some student strikes and "riots" that took place in the province where I live: their symbol was a red square and some would wear masks for a few protests. A long story, the students "won" :P

I had a few problems uploading this one... until I found out it was simply some mess-up with Internet Explorer (hey, I always had the high speed connection and I never game with my laptop so I never felt the need to upgrade until now!). I used Chrome and now everything's fine. Anyway, now I'm back to the university full-time, I just hope I will still have time for all this.
